The Scoop

I've been designing websites for roots/folk musician Chris Kasper since around 2002 back when we were neighbors in Manayunk. The latest release is by far the most significant and complex of the bunch that we have put together to date.

If you haven't noticed already, I'm a bit of a sucker for one page scrolling sites, and this time I wanted to tie a wordpress back-end into the equation. I employed front-end guru Matthew Thomas to figure out how to make this happen, and build it out. The end result looked just like my PSD, so I have to say, Matt rocked it.

Chris has total control of the content of the site through the WordPress admin whether it be adding an album, tracklists, mp3's to play on the site, populating a gig calendar or blasting emails to those subscribed to his newsletter. Every bit of the content is editable.

Kasper found Chinese illustrator Nimi Sum one night while trolling the web looking for the perfect art for his most recent album. She was commissioned soon after this discovery. Her style matches his music perfectly and it was great having something completely different to work with for a change. I got to flex some design muscle outside the box.

Granted there are a few issues left to be ironed out, but for the first release, people have had kind words to say about this latest site.
