My brother, Matthew Budd, has been sketching bicycle designs for the past three decades. Naturally, a few years ago he took classes at the United Bicycle Institute (UBI) in Portland, Oregon to learn the basics of frame construction and welding. Shortly after returning home to Boston he was open for business, hand crafting custom bicycle frames for his fellow riders. While he is still a small operation, his frames are being raced and represented in the Mid Atlantic regions as well as the Bay Area in California as well as further north in the Pacific Northwest.
When he came to me for a website and a new logo I was really aching to get a WordPress site developed and out the door. So that's the direction we took. He had been blogging on a public Boston area cycling site for a few years already, so I knew he had a lot of good content to start out with, and he was already familiar with the Admin side of WP... And so I started the export/import of data, then moved onto the custom theme. As a starting point I used Organic Theme's free template, 'Structure Theme'.
Once I got the main content laid out, I wired his site up to ping.fm, which broadcasts to his facebook and twitter pages every time he writes a new article. If time allows in the next few months I'd really like another go at this site to address some of the issues and clean it up a bit. Someone please give him some money, so he can give me some money to do this... ;)
